Richard Ponce is the greatest man in San Juan Bautista. I worked at Fool's Gold for 6 years and enjoyed his visits so much. The well written tribute to his life just about covered it all. His knowledge of the Antique world was amazing. The stories of the early San Juan Bautista history were so great to hear. Richard helped me in so many ways through the years. Rest in Peace Ponce, You will be missed !!!

I was a dealer at the Halltree Mall in Salinas for over 20 years. Richard was a delight. I loved talking to him and listening to his stories. I always caught up on his movie going with his wife. He would give me a review on the movies. I also loved feeding him. He had a wonderful eye and his space was the most eclectic in the shop. Loved his laugh and I will miss him. Please know that his family was everything to him.

San Juan has lost a real treasure, and I still can't believe we will not see him around town any more. I'll always remember the last time I saw Richard; he was making final adjustments to the traditional Community Christmas Peace Tree in the orchard garden of the State Park. Always ready with a smile and a conversation, Richard seemed as vigorous and active as ever. What a great legacy of community service he has left us.

My sincere condolences to Rachel and the kids. Richard was always very kind funny and was a true San Juaner. He always volunteered to help with the children with the mission fiestas and parades he always had a friendly smile when I saw him. He would take the time out to talk and see how things were going. We're going to miss him. I'm so sorry. I can say I will always have something to remember him by I bought one of his exclusive three tier bird houses that he made by hand. It is beautiful to me Sincerely Gloria.

My deepest condolences to all Richards family and. Friends. I was very sadden to hear the news of Richards passing. I met him at the San Juan Bautista antique show while helping my dear friend Eva who was one of the vendors in Richards space. I immediately liked him - he was such a gentle and very helpful soul with my friend and all he came in contact with. He made me laugh and always made sure that not only me but everyone else was ok. I soon realized that he was related to the Ponce family from Morgan Hill that I knew for years. I thought I had met all of them I use to tell him he was the best looking one in the crew. When he would see me he would call me "Home Depot " we would both laugh....inside joke yes a jokester he was -Richard you will be truly missed rest in peace my friend Diana Pena

Richard was not only a patient but a dear friend for decades. I remember the times he visited the office- we would talk of antiques and stamps and coins - he had such a wealth of knowledge. My heart goes out to Rachel and the family - he will be missed by all his family and friends. It is with great regret to have recently heard of your father's passing. He was a great and wonderful person that my family and I had the joy of knowing for many years, and will go on remembering all the great and enjoyable experiences we had with your father in the past. Things I enjoyed the most, and will always remember, were purchasing my first car and my first antique farm implement from your father over thirty years ago. At this time my family and I would like to give our condolences and prayers to you and all of your family members. I look forward to getting together with everyone on his Celebration of Life.
Respectfully yours,
Doug Noble and family
