Kim Cook

Obituary of Kim Stewart Cook

Kim Cook, a loving father and treasured friend, passed away on Tuesday, May 17th in the Palo Alto V.A. Hospital of a massive heart attack. Close family were present at the time of his death. Kim was an artist, whether it was designing, building, singing, or debating. His spirit burned so brightly that, sometimes, it was more than some could bear, but his love, friendship, and compassion were rare, precious, and unwavering. He made friends wherever he was, and whatever he was doing, and could never fail to make his company laugh. He worked for many years at S.L.A.C. in Palo Alto as a brilliant machinist, and had spent the last few years working on an innovative project with his good friend Kevin at D.E.I., where he designed and machined parts. In His spare time, he built rockets for a variety of purposes; everything from amateur launches in the Nevada desert, which he attended with his daughters and his close friends, to professional launches with Ninkasi Brewing and National Geographic. He is survived by his three daughters, his two ex-wives, his sister, and his father. His friends and family will be gathering for a celebration of Kim's life in Hollister on June 25th.
