I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Kim since 1984 when he started at SLAC in the Light Fabrication Machine Shop. We lost touch when he left SLAC some time later.
It was great to see him return in the mid 2000's, and again work beside him. Kim was highly regarded in the workplace, and was a deep technical and spiritual thinker, and willing to help if anybody had work related questions.
He was a friend outside of work as well, as we and others enjoyed going to rock concerts over the years.
My condolences to his family.
