Mr Mauro sold me my first typewriter (manual!) When I was about 12. I think he was amused and delighted in my interest in spending my savings that way at that age. Such a nice man. I wonder what he would have thought knowing I would end up publishing my work.
My sincere condolences to Ed and the rest of the family.

Mr. Mauro was always so kind when I would go to his stationary store. He never treated me like a dumb kid that didn't know what they were doing, even though I was. Another piece of our San Benito County history gone. May he RIP.

Uncle Ed was the bedrock of the family and always there for you in every way. He was the kind of man you never wanted to let down so he inspired those who knew him to do better, be better and try harder. We will always remember him standing there with a smile twinkling in his eye and welcome in his hugs. He will be missed more than words can express. All our condolences go out to his loved ones and those he touched with his many acts of kindness. David, Tracie, Kendal, Ethan, Sydney Manza

Ed & Rosie meant so much to me my entire life. I spent a great deal of time at their house as a child with my grandparents Joe & Jean Accornero. Ed & Rosie always made me feel special. They had this back of making you feel like you were the only person in the room who needed their attention. I love and loved them so much. I wish I could come down for the service but I moved back to Oregon. I will be with all of you in thoughts and prayers as you remember someone so greatly generous of spirit.

To the family of Ed Mauro: I will always have fond memories of Mr. Mauro when I visited the stationery store on San Benito Street so long ago. His smile, his kindness, and his warm welcome when you entered the store. My heartfelt sympathy to his family. Around (maybe) 9 months ago, I ran into him at Nob Hill, and mentioned about his stationery store, and his eyes lite up with a big smile. God bless him.

Dear Anthony & Carol, Eddie & Barbara
Ed was such a kind man and a great host when family visited. I will forever remember his friendly smile. You had a long time and many happy memories with your mom and dad. God bless all of you and I look forward to honoring and remembering your dad at the memorial. I can imagine all our family members in heaven sitting around a table and enjoying a well laid out feast and talking and laughing. One thing is for sure, he raised a beautiful family.
