Hubert was an active member of the Japanese American Citizens League.  His interests included that of being a consummate handyman, loved riding motorcycles and enjoyed watching scrambles, flat track and hill climbs primarily in the Hollister and Gilroy areas.   He was an active fitness enthusiast and would routinely ride his bicycle in excess of 20 miles per trip often with others who were half his age.  He loved the camaraderie and competition.  Ocean swimming was also a favorite activity with Rio Del Mar and numerous locations in Hawaii topping his list of favorite swimming places.

Hubert is survived by Jackie his spouse of over 62 years of San Juan Bautista, his children Peter Teshima, Mark Teshima and Linda Ricketts and their spouses Lisa Strohman-Teshima, Kristine Teshima and Steve Ricketts.  Grandchildren include, Troy Teshima, Marques Teshima, Evan Teshima, Kyle Teshima, Trey Teshima, Aaron Ricketts, Scott Ricketts and Jason Ricketts as well as great grandchildren Rush and Peyton Teshima.  Surviving siblings include Amy Boch, Naomi Benitez and Harris Teshima, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Hubert was preceded in passing by his parents, Akira and Chiyoko Teshima, and siblings, Marcie Suezaki and Kenneth Teshima.
