Obituary of Andres Joseph Martinez
Andres Joseph, AJ, Martinez passed away suddenly In Hollister,California on June 5th,2017 at the age of 28.
AJ was the only child of Mary and Jose Martinez. He attended local schools in the Hollister School District, with perfect attendance from grades K-8. Andres attended & graduated from San Benito High School in 2007 with perfect attendance during his four years. He participated in band and was awarded Outstanding Performance in Media Arts his Senior year. He later attended and graduated from Gavilan College and studied at Expressions College for Digital and Media Arts in Emeryville, California.
AJ was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Mexican American Community on Education, San Juan Pacific Model Railroaders Club and Rail Fans, Bay Area /Central California . His passion & love for railroading began at a young age and continued. As an avid rail fan, AJ, traveled on different rail lines throughout the United States where he filmed & posted numerous You Tube videos. He was a superb drummer and was often found "jamming" in his garage with friends. AJ posted several music videos.
AJ could be found, with his blue backpack slung on his back ,tripod, camera or video recorder in hand, either at Jack London Square,in Oakland, Ca. or at the Sacramento Jazz Festival. He enjoyed playing in the Stanford Band & could be seen dancing around in the "Tree costume ". AJ loved his parents, aunts,uncles,grandparents & friends. Whenever anyone needed help he would drop what he was doing & go to their aid.
AJ is survived by his parents: Mary and Jose Martinez, Grandmother: Marcellina Munoz, Billi Cline, George & Carmen Munoz, Peter Munoz ( Jane Leroe), Tony Munoz (Lisa Boote), Virginia Munoz, Lupe Angelo, Tony, Tom, PerfectoJr., Armando Martinez their spouses and NUMEROUS cousins.
He is predeceased by Grandparents: Joseph Munoz Sr., Perfecto & Magdelena Martinez, Uncles: Joseph Munoz Jr, Herman & Martin Martinez.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13th, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 14th, family and friends will leave the mortuary at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of the Resurrection at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
A Reception will follow at St. Benedit Hall, 1200 Fairview Road, Hollister, CA 95023
