Tia Mary & Uncle Jose,
My heart goes out to you both. It is very hard for me to imagine how this has hit both of you. The news of this has been so very hard for me. As hard as it is, I thank God tho that you had those last moments with him and that he was not somewhere else.
I can remember when he was born and one of his first outings was to Kayla's first birthday party. He was 3 weeks old and my dad took a picture of Kayla giving AJ a kiss. If I can get my hands on that picture I will send it to you. But it was so precious and I was so grateful that you all showed up for her first birthday. The times you came up to Idaho to see us and Kayla, AJ and James played together. They had so much fun.
I had always found it amazing how AJ and James both loved trains like they did.
I pray for you both every night. There is no sadder thing than to loose your child.
I pray that God holds you in his hand and pours his loving kindness, mercy and comfort on you.
I love you both!

Dear Aunt Mary & Uncle Jose,
Our heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I enjoyed getting to know AJ and appreciated the times we had a chance to chat during holidays at Grandma Marcellina's house and a few Big Games. It was also a pleasure that he could partake in our wedding and witness the union between me and Peter.
We are here for you. Please let us know if we can help in any way. We all cared for AJ and will treasure the memories we have of him. His spirit will live on in our hearts.

AJ,
I remember when you were born. Mary and I were playing in the backyard when Mom received the call and shared the news. You were the first cousin to born after me, Mary, and Thomas, and it felt like you were our little brother.
You probably don't remember, but when you were real young, you would come over to our house and stay with Mom during the Cal football games. Once you got older, you would join us in the family section. We would sit there cheering on the Bears, eating Grandma's tacos, and snacking on the gummie bears your mom would bring for us. Those were great memories.
As you grew older, I remember hanging out with you at so many different family functions. It was cool to see you develop a subversive sense-of-humor, and a talent in the arts. Having never played an instrument myself, I was always impressed with your drumming skills and your ability to diagram marching band formations. I only wish they could have been for the Cal Band, but no one is perfect.
AJ, we'll see you again one day, and when we do, I'm sure you'll greet us with that bright smile and a big laugh. In the meantime, you'll always be in our memories and in our hearts. And whenever I hear a train whistle or drumline, I'll think of you, my other little brother.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of A.J.'s family. There's such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies, especially so young. I'd like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this time but it's not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection, this is our amazing hope that helps us recover and gives us power to go on. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort (Ps.83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.

Mere words can't truly express my sadness and sorrow of hearing of Andres' passing. Watching the video posted was really moving and touching. It brought back such happy memories of him growing up. I so remember his beautiful black curly hair and his little cherub face when he was a little boy. I remember how he used to call my mother grandma and how she loved him very much. Andres was such a fine young man and his life touched so many people who loved him so much. He is now with his grandparents and my mother who will watch over him and take care of him. Our hearts ache terribly for you. We will always remember the little guy who used to scream at the top of his lungs when he was hungry!! And Denny recalls bouncing him on his knee and taking him out to play with the puppies. We always knew he'd be smiling when Byron got home and played blocks, cars and trucks with him.
