Obituary of Steven F. Mottau
After a brave battle with cancer, Steve passed away at his residence peacefully at 62 years of age. Steve joined the Navy after high school and returned to Hollister after fulfilling his service. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying especially the big sporting events, like the Super Bowl and World Series. Steve was a talented craftsman who liked creating things from wood and metal alike. He was also a terrific barbecuer, often cooking on the very barbeques he made. Steve was hardworking and believed in a good handshake. His finest quality was the love he had for his family and close friends.
Steve is survived by his siblings: Cathy, Mike (Ellen), Terese, and Mark (Cathy), and his nephews and nieces: Jim Russell, his wife Rori and their children-Kerys, Mason, Kindered and Reagan; Jessaca and Jake Machado; and Cody (Elly), Alexander, Breanna, and Keegan Mottau.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Ellie Mottau
The family would like to give a special thank you and appreciation to Ross and Bette Hagins, Rick Smith, and Steve’s caregivers Anna, Gloria and Gay.
