Obituary: Kathy Kogle (1938 - 2024)** October 30, 1938 -September 22, 2024 Kathy Kogle, born on October 30, 1938, in the Los Angeles area, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and dedication to her community. A resident of San Benito County since 1969, Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many. Widowed in 1974, Kathy faced the challenge of raising her three children alone. Despite her profound loss, she showed remarkable strength and resilience, beginning a new chapter in her life by pursuing a real estate license in 1976. Her success in the field was driven by her honesty, determination, and integrity. She became a respected member of the real estate community, known for her willingness to go the extra mile for her clients. In 1983, Kathy found love again and married Gene Kogle. Together, they built a life filled with shared joys such as travel, golf, and spending time with friends. They weathered life’s storms with faith, including supporting their son through paralysis from a motorcycle accident and the miraculous recovery of their grandson from a serious brain injury. Kathy was also an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an international organization devoted to charitable projects that promote educational opportunities for women. Her commitment to this cause reflected her passion for helping others grow and succeed. Her journey of faith began in 1974 when, during her time of loss, she experienced an outpouring of love from 1st Presbyterian Church (now Christ Fellowship Hollister). This act of kindness led her to embrace her faith, be baptized, and dedicate her life to serving the church. Kathy’s contributions to Christ Fellowship Hollister were heartfelt and numerous, particularly her belief that "every little bit helps the entire body." Kathy is preceded in death by her first husband Philip Jay Brashear her son Jeffrey Jay Brashear . Her sister Dorothy Wright Her Husband Gaylord Gene Kogle. Survived by her brother Chuck and Sister Barbara , children Michele, Vicki and Mark , stepchildren Don , Colleen , and Nancy as well as Numerous Grandchildren, nieces , nephews and many friends. She will be remembered not only for her professional success but also for her deep faith, kindness, and commitment to making the world a better place through small acts of service. A memorial service will be held at Christ Fellowship Hollister to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support educational opportunities for women or local church ministries, causes close to Kathy’s heart. Kathy’s legacy of love, faith, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Christ Fellowship 2066 San Benito St. Hollister Ca 95023 on October 12, 2024, at 11 am to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support educational opportunities for women P.E.O. or local church ministries, causes close to Kathy’s heart. Black-Cooper-Sander will be handling the arrangements.
