Dear Kristen, I was sorry to read of the death of your father in the Lodi News Sentiel. I don't know if you will remember me or my parents, Mary and Ferdinand Horst. My parents lived next door to your dad and his family in Lodi. When you were little you used to come to Christmas Eve at my parents house. We sang Christmas carols in both German and English. The house was packed with people. Some years Santa even came. Your dad and I were friends during our younger years. Your Aunt Iris gave Paul and I a beautiful lamp as a wedding gift and it is one of the few things I still use. The last time I saw your dad was when your uncle Joe's funeral in Tracy. If you want to give me an address I may come across some pictures of your dad - it would probable be a while.
