Obituary of Ilda Laverne Barbieri

Ilda J. Barbieri, 97, passed away on Friday, March 22nd in Hollister, CA. Her memorial service will be held at Calvary Cemetery on Friday, April 19th at 2 o’clock with a reception following at her home. Ilda was born in San Francisco to Sabatino “Sam” Lazzerini and Stella Lazzerini on March 24, 1926. She graduated from Balboa High School in 1944. She then married the love of her life, Carl Barbieri in San Francisco on November 19, 1944. They were married for 75 years until Carl’s passing in 2019. She was a secretary for ARC Electric in Burlingame thus retiring after 30 years and opening a gift shop in Menlo Park called Apropos. She loved crocheting, cooking and baking in her younger years. Her family was her pride and joy. If she wasn’t spending time with her loved ones she could be found shopping, gambling, singing or dancing the night away at local venues. Ilda is survived by her son, Jack Barbieri, of Hollister, CA. She is also survived by her grandson Joseph Barbieri, granddaughter Teressa Barbieri, great-granddaughter River Moran and her great-grandson John Carl Barbieri. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl Barbieri, her father Sam Lazzerini, her mother Stella Lazzerini, her son David Barbieri, her brother Joseph Lazzerini and her sister Melba Puccetti. We were extremely blessed to have her for these 97 years. She will forever be missed. May she rest in peace and forever keep her dancing shoes ready.
