I am sorry to hear about your dad's passing. There aren't many of us who remember your dad working at Brown and Chappell on 4th St. Wow, that brings back so many memories! Lizzie's tribute to her granddaddy was so touching. It's no wonder what he and your mom did to raise two beautiful daughters who also have touched many lives. Your whole family has been blessed to have had him for all these years. His spirit is in a good place now with the love of his life.

My papa had the most beautiful soul to ever walk this earth. He always wanted everybody to get along, always reminding us to be there for each other. He enjoyed the time he spent with his entire family, loved all of us unconditionally. He was a caring and compassionate person and I will miss that about him. I will always remember the wisdom he taught me. He was always there for me in times of need. I wish I could’ve held your hand and told you how much I love you one last time. You will forever be in my heart. you will always be the definition of what a true Grandfather is supposed to be. I love you papa.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Parsons. He was a friend and bowling partner of my dad and myself for many years. Mr. Parsons was always very nice to me and a pleasure to chat with over the years.

Papa,
I’m so grateful that I got to say goodbye to you. It wasn’t in the way I had expected but, at least I got to hold your hand and tell you I love you. I have so many beautiful memories with you and cherish every moment and memory that we shared. I remember how much you loved to play and sing to my children the same way you did to me when I was little. I remember all the stories you shared of your wife, brother’s and my mother that meant so much to you. I remember all the important lessons you valued that you engraved in me, along with the rest of your grandchildren and great grandchildren. It’s hard to correlate just how hurt I feel inside and how incredibly heartbroken I feel about your passing. I’m sorry that I didn’t see you sooner. I know you can understand now the reasons behind that, as you watch over us from the other side. I will never forget all the support you gave me growing up and for all the times I didn’t know where to turn. Thank you for dedicating your life to raising me alongside my mother and for teaching me how to take care of myself and provide for my family. I know you always told me that you were worried about keeping your word to my mother, when she asked you to make sure her children were taken care of before she passed. Please know that you did more than keep your word Papa, you full filed her wishes and honored her request just by loving every flaw and every mistake in us. You gave support and unconditional love no matter the circumstances. For this, I give my entire respect and gratitude in every way to you. I can’t thank you enough for all you did for me and all you were to me in my life. Time may have passed , but you always remained the most important person in my entire life. You were my dad, my hero and the only person who knew me more than I knew myself. You were the best grandfather I could have ever asked for and the absolute best great grandfather to all your grandchildren. I will never forget you Papa. I love you. I’ll miss you. I will see you again one day.
