Obituary of Edward Perreira
Edward "Ed" Perreira 92, passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2023 In Hollister Ca., surrounded by his family.
He was born in Pahoa Hawaii on March 11, 1931. He was the third of eight children to Manuel & Emilia Perreira, the family moved to California in 1947.
He met and married Emma Bisceglia in 1953. He is survived by his 5 children, Theresa Maddux, Richard (Patty) Perreira, Steven (Amy) Perreira, Shirley Perreira, and Keith Perreira, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Also survived by Caroline Robertson, Adeline Chantler, and brother Gilbert Perreira.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Emma Perreira, his brothers Elias Perreira, Ernie Perreira, Walter Perreira, and his sister Lorraine Wheeler.
Ed served in the National Guard of California from 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1956. He worked several jobs over the years until he found his true love of carpentry, he worked in this field as a special builder until 1988 when he went to work as the maintenance & operation superintendent of the Hollister School District until he retired in 2003 @ 72 years old.
Ed enjoyed building birdhouses in his later years, and having coffee and great conversations with his friends and family at several spots around town!
He was a great friend and always willing to lend a hand. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, that is where he truly shined!
A mass will be held on October 10th, 2023 at 10 am, at St Benedicts Catholic Church, 1200 Fairview Rd, Hollister California.
In loving memory of Ed please wear Hawaiian attire.
A luncheon will follow at Paine's Club, 421 East St., Hollister, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the "Building fund @ St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Ed's memory!
Ed will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
