I am extremely proud to have known Suzie. I met her 1st when she chaired the department at our Fair, oh, way back many, many years ago. Met again later when we were planning our fledgling Pinnacle Quilters of San Benito County. So proud to have known Suzie, she will be missed.

Suzie was a very talented and creative woman. I learned so much from her when I was employed at Timber & Textiles. Suzie was a very proud Mother and Grandma.

Dearest Lisa and Amy. I am so very saddened at the passing of your dear mother. She was always one of my most favorite ladies. I loved seeing her walking in the neighborhood and just a couple of weeks ago I became concerned because I had not seen her. She was such a talented lady. Your obituary was so perfect. I loved her daily goals and she aced every one of them. Please know that you all are in my heart and prayers. You were so lucky to be her adored daughters. Sending hugs and kisses. Julie Young

If San Benito County could have its own Prince Di, it was surely Suzie. Elegant and graceful, charming yet playful. Suzie embodied the essence of living in kindness and always seeing the best in everyone! We will all miss her forever- and should all be so grateful to have been blessed with knowing her.

Suzie, as I called her, was one of the first great ladies I was introduced to when Ralph and I moved to Hollister in 1999.
We bought some furniture at Timber & Textiles, lots of fabric and I created my first big quilt in the back room with Lisa, as one of the class participants. They even surprised me with a birthday cake at one of the classes.
I was always amazed at how she could move that furniture around in that store to make it look so appealing. I will miss her. Our sympathy, love and prayers to Lisa and family...

Amy and Lisa... oh my ... where to even start. I am so sorry to read this - Suzie was one of my favorite women. She always had a smile on her face and a hug to offer. I met her first when I started babysitting you girls when I was in high school - Amy you were just a baby. Then "growing up" and getting to know here as an adult. Both of your parents did the catering at my wedding in 1992. Suzie was a life force, her energy and style - and will be so missed by all that knew her. I can here her voice as I type this. I know your wonderful memories will soften this time for you all as your mom would want. Love to you both.

For many years, my husband and I helped Suzie and Lisa hang quilts in the Blue Room for the County Fair. Suzie was very particular about which quilts would hang side by side and which quilt backs would show through. We spent hours screwing and unscrewing the quilt supports, moving this quilt here and that quilt there. Suzie would put stickers on the quilts that needed to be moved. One year we decided to remove some of the stickers to see if Suzie would notice…we were tired and just wanted to go home! We had her going for a little bit, but she finally caught on, and we had a good laugh. My quilt cabinet from Timber & Textiles still smells wonderful, just like the store, and it will always remind me of Suzie.

My deep condolences to Lisa, Jason, Marcus, Ava and all of Susie’s family. I saw her walking in Ridgemark often. I think of her daily when I look at our beautiful entry way bench we bought at Timber and Textiles. What a wonderful lady!
