It was 1976 when I met, and began taking lessons in Dressage with Pam. That meeting changed my life profoundly.
Pam was an inspirational instructor! She took a 4 year old TB, and a jumper rider to Grand Prix in 6 years. Pam could really teach you “to ride and train” horses! I don’t think there is another Instructor/Trainer in the USA who has trained more riders to the Grand Prix level.
When I was preparing to ride Shogun in my first dressage show, Pam took me aside, and told me that she would not “warm us up” before our classes. Her reasoning was that she wouldn’t always be there to warm us up, and most importantly, a big part of being a successful rider was to learn how to prepare my horse for peak performance. That was one of the most important lessons Pam taught me!!
I have so many wonderful stories about Pam! Her sense of humor, her graciousness, her incredible beauty, her amazing talent as a rider and instructor will never be surpassed.
I was truly blessed to have known Pam, and I will miss her very, very much,
