Steven Eric Burt (1968 – 2022) Nov. 17, 1968 to Sept. 2022 Resident of Greenfield, CA and Hollister, CA Steven was born November 17, 1968 in Oslo, Norway to Patrick Burt and Heide Drexler who met when Patrick was stationed overseas. As Patrick inched towards retirement, the family traveled back and forth between the U.S. and Germany for many years. Steven gained dual citizenship at just under a year old. Once Steven’s father retired, they traveled across the U.S. and finally settled in Greenfield, CA., where Steven lived out is childhood and graduated from King City High after years of cross country to keep him occupied. As he ventured out on his own, he tried his hand at many things, including painting houses, but once the rental equipment industry got their claws in him, he became a lifer. Steven ended his life working for Quinn Rental Services, a Caterpillar rental store, for over 25 years. With the last 8 years of that time as a Branch Manager for the Salinas yard, a yard that received the “Branch of the Year” award within the company in 2021. He really loved his job, cared about his co-workers and took care of his employees. His hobbies consisted of online gaming, listening to great music, taking amazing photos, playing board games with his girls, and he had a wonderful talent for cooking, something he always hoped to do more of when he retired. Steven passed away after fighting for 3 years against Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate Cancer. He gave it all that he had and made it his mantra “I have this disease so that no one else has too” He was hoping if he endured the pain, it would create all the good karma for the ones he loved the most to not have to go through what he did. Steven is survived by his wife and soulmate of 21 years, Jolene Chandler Burt, his parents Patrick and Heide Burt, his in-laws Gregg and Laurette Chandler, his three sisters; Martha Rodgers, Ivy Dunnell and Colleen Burt, his brother in-law Eric Chandler and wife Lindsay, his two daughters; Sammie and Lizzie, his nieces; Adina, Elle, and Emerson, his nephews; Patrick, Devon, Patrick the 3rd., Christopher, Parker and Cole, along with many great nieces and nephews. And so many more that loved him dearly!
