Dear Family, my sincerest and deeply felt condolences to you all on the passing of your Wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Best friend Patty. We were Trustees on the San Benito County Board of Education since the early 90's. Many fond happy memories of many meetings, school visits, San Andreas and Santa Ana Graduations our annual Special Board Dinners always in her company will remain as very special memories in my heart.
Seeing many teachers greet her warmly and students ready to give her a warm hug was a testament to her special friendship with them. Dear Patty your warmth in connecting with students and parents who seeked the help of the Board of Education during the decades of service to your community will remain in all our hearts and we are so grateful.
May you enjoy your New Life in Heaven my dear friend.. Adios

Dear Family of Patty,
Your wonderful Mother was so special to you and to many friends and children. Whenever we would see each other, we would talk about memories of years ago with each other and my two sons John and Andy. I recently wrote her a note reminiscing about a trip we took to King City to see Andy and Sean Eccles play football. We had dinner then went to the football field where we froze as the temperature had dropped and the wind was whipping across the field and stands. We called it "the coldest we had ever been in California" but it was worth it! Pat was loving, sensitive, understanding, fun, and so nice to be around. The video was a perfect example of the person she was. It made us all shed a tear but made us happy we were privileged to know her.
Love,
Barbara Ament

It's hard to believe that Patty has moved on and now she will receive her well-deserved great reward. She was given 87 great years which she surely did not waste. I have always thought that the one big question we will all be asked is "what did you do with your free time." Patty's answer to God will be LOTS! There was no dust on her shoes, she always kept busy. She loved the youth of this county and all those years on the County Board, she maintained her vigilance, "will this be good for the kids?" I loved to see her in action at those Teacher Appreciation and Recognition annual events, I was the announcer and she was the presenter. She knew everybody and most were her prized daycare kids, she would say something nice and give each a big hug and kiss and the receiver would do the same to Patty. Her Dad and my dad were great friends and Dick and his wife would frequent the Rainbow Cafe for dinner and later Dick would keep an eye on my dad going into Dabo Liquors and chatting with him. As a young boy, Dick was my barber and in my mind's eye I can still see all the arrowheads on display and it was so fun having him explain where he found them and telling what tribe made them. Patty had great parents and Patty was a great mom to her children. She taught them well and they made her proud. I will miss Patty, she inspired me in so many ways. I will always love the times on the board when we kidded each other, I can still see her sitting to my right the several times I was board president and a sitting board member. There definitely was never a dull moment when Patty was in the room. We all have been so blessed to call her our dear beloved friend. My sincere condolences to all the family. I know it will be hard to not see her and be with her, etc. May God shine comfort to all the family. God bless you all, Mitchell (she would always call me Mitchell)_

Pat was one of kindest people I've ever had the honor to meet. It was such a blessing when I was able to reconnect with her. She was talented beyond compare. Her quick wit was amazing. I know you will miss her very much, as everyone will, but know that she rests in the arms of God and watches over all who have ever come into contact with her. Much love to her family! Pat had style and a love for life and an amazing woman who loved to craft as much as I do. I'm lucky enough to own one of her wonderful creations. She brought smiles to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. RIP Pat and I hope you are having a wonderful party.

I first met Pat in San Juan Bautista at the antique store years ago when hunting for those vintage treasures. I was sad with the closure of the store in San Juan but was surprised when I happened one Sunday to check She's Consignment Store and low and behold Pat was working. I loved speaking with Pat when I would see her at She's. Pat was one of a kind and will be truly missed.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs to the family. Hydie

Patty Ward was the most unique woman I have had the pleasure of knowing. Gracious and beyond kind and compassionate to all fortunate to meet her. Patty made a very lasting impression on me as we worked together at North County Schools and shared our love of baking. We exchanged all kinds of recipes and my recipe box is full of her her recipes that I will treasure for years to come. Her passing is a gigantic loss to those who knew and loved her. She is definitely now seated at the right hand of the Lord and is now an Angel watching over all of us every day. Rest In Peace my beautiful Patty. Love you! Joanne Ramirez

Pat had the most kind, giving heart. You could pick up a conversation with her like you had just spoken, no matter how much time has passed. I remember getting off the bus after school at her house with her kids (she was doing day care before she really started doing daycare ) this was the late 60’s!! Fast forward 20 years and she was watching my daughters… you knew they were loved and well cared for. Will miss that smile. Until we meet again. Love and prayers to her family.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Patty in person, however, I was fortunate enough to meet her through our shared love of Words with Friends. I had just recently lost my Mom, and she allowed me to share my memories and pics at a time that I was wracked with grief. I am so blessed to have met her. My deepest sympathy to her family. Even knowing her a at a distance, I can tell she was one of a kind.

Pat was the most wonderful and special person I have ever known. The first time I met her was at Sacred Heart mothers club. We hit it off immediately. I remember us getting into trouble sometimes in the meetings because we would get the giggles so badly at something stupid!! We’ve been friends for 50 years, and she watched my children!! I will miss her until I see her again! Isabel Breen

My friend you will be sorely missed!! Pat was The most generous person kind and giving. So many wonderful memories that I will treasure forever. A second mom to my son, and so many others in her daycare. Pat
Was one in a million believe me. I will always remember each time I told her I was going to buy something she would look at me and say now Angie do you really need that and I would say yes I do and she would just walk away. A loving mother to her five children and one of the best friends and mentors I have ever had. My dear Patty you have brought so much joy into so many lives in this community you are a legend and your legacy will live on forever I love you to the moon and back
