Joseph, with ancestors (Kalinofsky?) from Białystok, dziękuję for being the best neighbor I've ever known! I'm sorry I didn't learn of your decline and passing sooner or I would have paid last respects. I look at my pomegranate tree and think of you. When I see the almond tree stump I think of you and wonder if you were disappointed that your efforts with my poor follow-up did not bear nuts. Next tree I plant will be with nails in honor of you. You taught Sam and I to how to trap gophers, a needed skill on Crestview. I loved your "Hellooooo. Anybody home?" visits often with a bag of goodies from your backyard and your (repeated) stories of travels, prospecting, firefighting, the aluminum plant and growing up in Schuylkill, PA and discussing/ complaining/ commiserating about how the world is run. I admired your walks into town carrying back water and declining a ride when offered because you wanted the exercise. Your Polish brought back memories of my babcia. I speak a few more words now. Thank you for standing in for my long buried father when Abed had Grandparent's Day at Sacred Heart. Tillie once said she chose you in part because she knew you would be a kind and gentle father and indeed you were. Rest in peace my friend. God bless you.
