Obituary of Christine Ann Vega

Christine Vega died peacefully at home in San Juan Bautista on April 29th, 2021 with her husband and sister sitting by her side. Christine was born in San Leandro, California in 1946 at grandma's house. Afterwards she went to the hospital to be taken care of. Funny her sister was born at home too. Christine grew up in East Oakland from age two thru 17. She and her sister would walk to school together and knew all the neighbors back then. Christine was married in the early sixties and had one son Jon. That marriage ended and she raised her son for the next 18 years as a waitress in California. She never had grandkids, she left that up to her sister. She lived in the Santa Cruz area for many years and at one time moved to Hawaii for three years with her son and worked as a waitress there. She met Sherwood her husband in 1995 and they got married in 1999. They lived in San Juan Bautista for the next next 26 years. Sherwood and Christine would spend a lot of time at the sea shore. Christine and her husband are very well known by all of their neighbors for their generously and for the many good things they served to eat. They loved having friends over for outdoor gatherings, especially 4th of July. She will be very much missed by her husband and family. She is survived by her husband and sister and one son and nieces and nephews. Her soul rests in peace in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ our Savior for eternity. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 11th at 1:00 p.m. at San Juan District Cemetery, 70 Monterey St., San Juan Bautista, CA 95045
