Obituary of Jeffrey Rovella
Lifelong Hollister resident Jeffrey Rovella passed away peacefully in his sleep in Gilroy on April 29, 2021.
Jeff was born with Down Syndrome and he outlived all doctors expectations by blessing us with more than 60 years. Even though he was born with disabilities, the greatest gifts he leaves behind is the joy and happiness he brought to others.
Jeff loved to be surrounded by family and friends. He would light up the room at every holiday, always ready to eat! Jeff never missed a meal or his dessert of apricot “P..P.P..Pie!”
Jeff enjoyed the simplicity of life. Whether it was fishing with his dad, riding the bus to workshop or just going for a walk, Jeff was always ready to go with a book in hand!
Every summer Jeff loved to go to Camp Krem in the Santa Cruz mountains. All year long he’d talk about camp and his favorite activities; swimming, basketball and baseball. He also spent many summers participating in the Special Olympics.
Jeff was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Doris and Michael Rovella.
He leaves behind his siblings Steve, Don and Susan. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the special caregivers throughout Jeff’s life. Sabina Offorjebe and Marlene and Steve Elliot.
