Obituary of William Allan Renz
Lifelong San Benito County resident, William Allan Renz, passed away at age 70 at his Hollister residence on April 18, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.
Bill was born on March 28, 1951 to William (Bill) and Dolores (Dot) Renz in Hollister. He was the older brother to Jere Renz, Ann Johnson and Christie Bonetti.
Bill attended local schools and graduated in 1969 from San Benito High School. After High School he attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and graduated with a BS Degree. Upon finishing his education he returned home to work in the family walnut and grain business.
In 1981 Bill married the love of his life, Toni Jane Caputo, and they celebrated their 40th Wedding anniversary on April 4, 2021. They became the proud parents of Adam and Gina Renz. Five years ago their grandchildren started to arrive, bringing Kiesley (5) and Piper (2) Renz. Bill loved being a grandfather, father, brother and husband.
Bill was Past President of the Farm Bureau and was a Director on the San Benito County Saddle Horseshow and Rodeo Board. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and was an avid reader and loved to barbeque. Bill’s office was looking over the beautiful scenery of the back canyons of San Benito County riding on the top of his dozer.
Bill is survived by his wife, Toni Jane Renz, children Adam (Alex) Renz of Tres Pinos and Gina Renz (Chad Corl) of Oregon, granddaughters, Kiesley and Piper Renz of Tres Pinos. He is also survived by his sister Ann (Dave) Johnson of Salinas Valley. Numerous nieces, nephews and aunts survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) Renz and Dolores (Dot) Renz, Brother Jere Renz and Sister Christie Bonetti.
The family is deeply grateful for all the support with lovely cards, floral arrangements, calls and visits.
