Obituary of Susan Cora Avitia
In loving memory of Susan Cora Avitia who passed away in Napa, California on March 7, 2021 at the age of 78 years.
Susan Cora Avitia was Born on June 20, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Cora (Jovita) & Aurelio Perales. Susan left this life on March 7, 2021 at the age of 78. Her family moved to Hollister, California in 1941 & she met the love of her life Ray Avitia (Ray Baby) here as well.
She was a hard worker & spent time at home taking care of the family & household while her parents worked. She loved to bake & cook & was always a great hostess. She would always make sure that no one went without. Susan met Ray Avitia when she was 16 at the movie theater in 1958. From that point they were an item & eloped on August 27th, 1961. They were about to celebrate 60yrs of marriage this August. She loved her Ray Baby very much.
Susan had a love for gardening & frogs & wasn’t afraid of them if they jumped out at her. She loved her little frogs as she called them. She loved going to the thrift stores or Segundas as she liked to call them. She would spend hours looking for little trinkets & clothes. She loved finding flashy clothes & wearing her sunglasses, Big hats & Turquoise jewelry. Susan loved to get dressed up for parties & was always the life of it. She loved to dance & just have a good time with family & friends. She was always dressed to the nines & was so full of life. She loved her family very much & was so thankful for them.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Cora & Aurelio Perales; her brothers Joseph Perales, Daniel Perales, James Perales, & her sisters Juanita Wilson, Josephine Mena. She leaves behind her husband Ray Avitia (Ray Baby); her daughter Venus Bemish, & son Adam Avitia; her grandchildren Adonis Bemish, Cassandra Cardwell, Halie Bemish, Mellise Scofield, Amanda Avitia, & great grandchildren Colt Scofield, Nolan Scofield, & another on the way; Her siblings Mike Perales, Jonathan Perales, & Carla Talavera. She also leaves many nieces & nephews whom she loved.
Memorial Service March 17, 2021, Wednesday 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 17th from 09:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St Hollister, Ca 95023
Funeral Services will begin at 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by Interment at IOOF Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
