Obituary of Bertha Garcia Valencia

Bertha Valencia was born on February 4, 1935 in Los Angeles, Ca to Paula and Mike Garcia. She passed away peacefully at her home on February 19, 2021 at the age of 86. A lifelong California native, Bertha was well-loved in her small town and most days could be seen walking downtown hand in hand with her husband of 70 years, Danny. She worked at the local cannery for over 30 years and was also a seasonal worker at Guerra Nut Company. Bertha loved to travel, attend church every weekend, go to the Casinos, cook, dance at family gatherings, and make tamales every year during the holidays. She had a love for sparkly things and was always dressed to impress. Bertha was the mother of seven children. She and her husband Danny worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. She would proudly boast about her five sets of identical twin granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her grandson Nick and her 12 siblings. She is survived by her husband Danny, her children Theresa Caballero (Robert), Eleanor Miller (Steve), Phyllis Vasquez (Carlos), Eddie Valencia, Julie Husain (Syed), Leonard Valencia (Millie), and Paula Valencia; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Despite her large family, she always made time for everyone providing love and support. Family services will be private. Covid rules will apply.
