Obituary of Elvia Orozco

Elvia Orozco passed away in Hollister, California on January 23, 2021 at the age of 77 years. Elvia was born to Rafael and Juana Trujillo on February 15, 1943 in Delicias, Chihuahua. She was the oldest of seven children. She enjoyed her regular get-togethers with her mother and siblings. Her sisters Margaret and Olivina were, without question, her very best friends. She treasured the closeness they shared. Long sisterly chats either by phone or in person were a regular occurrence. Elvia worked extremely hard for 32 years at Tri-Valley Foods. When she finally retired, she got to enjoy the simple things of life, like movies and shopping. She loved watching movies of all kinds, especially romantic comedies. She was particularly fond of the Wedding Date with Dermot Mulroney, but her favorite was Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth. By the way, this is written exactly how our mom would say it. She would tell you the movie title and provide you with the actors' names. It was very cute. She was an exceptional cook. She made the best Chile Verde, Chile Colorado, and her famous Gorditas. Whenever anyone came to visit, mom would take pride in making your favorite meals. It was very sweet. It was her way of saying I love you. She thoroughly enjoyed watching cooking shows. Although, watching movies, and television shows pale in comparison to her love of shopping. She whole heartedly loved to shop. It didn't matter the store or town; shopping was always a must. Whether it was Ross, Marshalls, Macy's Kohl's, Target or Wal-Mart it simply didn't matter. If you could get two stores in on any given day, that was a good day for mom. Shopping brought her such joy. Saturday garage sales with our brother was a regular occurrence, and she didn't mind an occasional thrift store too. When Spendwise Bargain Outlet opened up in Hollister, it quickly became a favorite of hers. She had a special fondness for the beach or being close to any body of water. It brought her great peace and tranquility. She could sit quietly and stare at the ocean for hours. She loved going to Monterey, enjoyed Fishermans Wharf, and Rio Del Mar, but her absolute favorite was Pismo Beach. Taking our mom to any of these places became a regular excursion. Many weekend trips were planned out for mom throughout the years. It would involve a shopping trip, a great meal (often clam chowder) and the finale would always be at the beach. She is survived by her children; Diane, Lisa, Javier, Norma; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her siblings; Sergio, Margaret, Armando, Olivina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. We will hold these memories and more, very close to our heart. We love and miss you. Rest in perfect peace mom. Per our mothers wishes, she will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
