Obituary of Barbara Reiko Sugishita
Barbara Reiko “Bobbi” Sugishita, 76, came into this life the first born of Thomas and Anne Sugishita on July 23, 1944, in Heart Mountain, Wyoming and left on her new journey January 7, 2021, in San Jose, California. She is survived by her son, Darius Sugishita Pazoki of Morgan Hill, California; her two brothers, Harold T.[Eileen] of Orlando, Florida, and W. Tim[Kathy] of Arroyo Grande, California; her niece Claire Anne and great nephews Hudson and Everett of San Diego, California; nephews Thomas Flyer[Jonea] of South Carolina and Kenneth W.[Morgan] and great niece Nora of Georgia and a great niece to come in June 2021.
She worked at various sales jobs but her longest employment was in sales for Passport Unlimited for 10-plus years. Bobbi was an avid reader. She enjoyed scouring through Reader’s Digest and reading books by well-known mystery authors such as James Patterson and Sue Grafton. She loved watching mystery TV shows like Chicago PD and Blue Bloods. She loved playing Scrabble with friends.
Barb had a variety of experiences in her life, and she was most proud and protective of Darius and always looked forward to family gatherings during the Holidays. Towards the last few years of her life, her most enjoyable moment was spending time with her son. Darius would spring her out of the nursing home and take her out on day trips to get an original glazed donut from Stan’s Donuts and eat Japanese food at Gombei Restaurant. Before she left him or after every call, she would always say, “You take care of yourself,” a sign that while her memory may have been fading, she always remembers the love that she has for her son. Even though Barb was hampered by medical issues the last fifteen years of her life, she steadfastly remained loyal and loved her son first and foremost.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the Grunnagle Funeral Home; Tim and Kathy Sugishita; Tommy and Jonea Sugishita; and Claire Sugishita.
