Abigail Maria Castro passed away at her Hollister residence on October 28, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Born in Brazil, traveled around Brazil, the Americas and Europe for most of her adult life. One of 12 children, Abigail Castro did everything well to the best of her ability. She was a very successful student winning awards throughout her school life as a poet and radio soap opera writer. She worked as a paralegal secretary for 26 years for the State of São Paulo in Brazil. After retirement she took care of her nuclear and extended family with the utmost dedication. Her beloved husband of 40 years Roberto Castro (1935-2000), was always in her mind and heart. She moved to California and immigrated to help care for her two grandchildren Giuliana, “Giuli” (15), and Roberto, “Betinho” (17) when Giuli was born. She was a very respectful, spiritual, religious, trustworthy, dependable, considerate, dedicated, elegant and stylish woman who valued everybody she has ever met. She has always helped everybody she could. She has always treated everyone respectfully leaving a legacy of solidarity to her family. Her daughter’s partner Robert, who very much helped take care of her during her battle with dementia has always said: “Her will to do things well is admirable”. She is survived by her daughter Luciana, her grandchildren Roberto and Giuliana, her sister Elza, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her sister-in-law Maria Helena. She will be greatly forever missed for her many qualities, but especially for the respect she gave to all at all times. May she rest in Peace.
