Thank you for your condolences on behalf of our entire family.
My favorite memory of Baba is when we climbed to the top of the Holy Site at Međugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was in 1997 and Baba was 77 - we were at the base of this rocky hillside - not knowing how we were going to get to the top... we looked at each other... questioningly.
Then, as Baba explains it, “I don’t know how the Spirit did it but we were like rabbits!” - before we knew it we were at the top of the pebble-laden hillside at the site now marked in large wooden crosses to pray. We had somehow been transported to the top like two scurrying rabbits ... quickly, swiftly and effortlessly!
It was then during our prayers, that Baba saw the crosses levitate and sway - it was her vision - and I witnessed her Great Faith and how God chose her to reveal these mysteries. I was still trying to figure out how on earth we got to the top!?!?!
God bless Baba always and forever and may her Spirit reveal itself to all of us to give us strength and hope to carry our crosses.

Dear Jane and Pauline and families, I was so sorry to see your mother passed. What a fantastic life she had and such a wonderful person. She reminded me in many ways of my grandmother who also was from a small town near Dubrovnik. She came to America at age 16 with 2 sisters. What an adventure they had. I visited Croatia and especially around Dubrovnik and areas near montenego in 2013. With your mother we have someone new to pray to Blessings to you all .

To the Dabo girls, please accept my condolences for the passing of your mother. She was s beautiful lady, both inside and out. I loved her and your Dad, both being very kind to me when I was young. Thinking of all of you dear cousins, and sending my love.
Catherine had such a strong spirit, presence, character...and hands! She would grab you by the hand and hold on as she spoke sincere words. And look out if you were a child, she would grab your cheek! It was a pinch of love like no other!
She and my father were so fond of each other, like siblings. They were definitely cut from the same cloth!

I am so sorry to hear this, my sincere condolences to the Dabo family... I have great memories of Mrs. Dabo walking every morning to church, out front raking leaves, always looking classy, wearing her skirt and beautiful jewelry, driving her big old Cadillac, and my favorite was when we were there visiting, and her advice to my youngest daughter Frankie, was to stay in school, get educated, and that this was something no one can take away from you... That really stuck with me, and I am grateful for all of our visits and to have her as our neighbor for over 60 year's, was truly an honor... Not to mention all of the great memories my older siblings share with the Dabo family.. She will be missed.

I come here to this site occasionally...as a former resident. Then I saw this today, Baba passed away. I had the privilege of knowing this remarkable woman for over 50 years...and worked for her at Dabo Liquors oh so many years ago. I am beyond saddened by her passing. Yet, I know in my heart she lead a long a productive life that influenced so many people, me included, of course. She was a true Matriarch.
Rest in peach my dear Baba (Mrs. Dabo)...your legacy will live on forever for your family and friends...what a honor to know you.

My grandmother, Mary Alice Tanner lived a few houses down the street and always admired how perfectly kept her property was.
