My husband and I are so sorry to hear of her passing. We were her next door neighbors from July 2010-December 2017. I will always remember her kindness. Within one day of us, as newlyweds, moving in to our first home next to hers, she came to our door, introduced herself as our neighbor and had a bowl of delicious peaches to offer us as a welcome. From then, she would sometimes bring us peaches or other fruit. She and her husband Florencio were very meticulous about the care of their home and yard. She always had a smile and waved hello when we saw each other.

Condolences to Teresita’s family. So very sorry to hear of her passing. It wasn’t very long ago that my mom mentioned that she had not seen Teresita and was wondering how she was doing. Teresita was such a hard working and loving woman just like her mother. When ever I pass by the Powell Street home I remember seeing them outside talking and laughing. She had that beautiful smile and warm greeting as her mom. Our loss is heavens gain. Take comfort that you will see her again , greeting you with that beautiful smile and warm hug. Our love and prayers for you and your family.

The Original Buena Vista old timers are slowly moving on to the other side, The block won’t be the same. Hopefully Grandma Linda (as I would call her because I was always the “weta” of us all that everyone had to translate to) and my dad were there to meet her at the gates of heaven. Just like the weekly taps on the glass window and greeting her at the door. She was a firecracker of a lady and taught me many things about life. Most of all she taught me how to speak the honest truth. I will miss seeing your beautiful green eyes your bright smile your fat thumbs and the sound of your voice yelling for me when you would call my name Karolina!
