I am shocked to hear of Victor’s passing. I was actually trying to reach him for a real estate question. I bought two houses from him, but more than just a trusted advisor and representative, he was also a dear friend. We worked out together when he was my fitness client; he and Mary came to my 50th birthday party; I encouraged him to take the job as Cheech Marin’s stand-in when he was filming a television show locally; and we made ourselves available when the other needed the advice the other had some expertise in. I will always remember him playing his cello at the request of my wife as we looked over the lights of San Francisco one night in order to seal the deal on the purchase of our house. I always think of him when I look at the full size lemon tree in our backyard that Victor gave us as a small potted plant, and said it was a lime tree. We will miss him dearly: his smile, his sense of humor, his generosity, his wit, and his talent. Rest in peace, Victor. Mary, we are very sorry for your loss, and for the loss of his son and extended family.

My condolences to Mary and all my cousins and the families. Victor was my cousin on his mother’s side. Although we were estranged, my heart is heavy and I send many prayers to all during this difficult time.

I met Victor in high school when we both played in the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra. He was a delight to be around and we would hang out on the breaks. One time we went for a walk during an intermission of a performance and had to run back in order to get there in time to play the second half!
I recently reconnected with him on Facebook and it was as if no time had passed. I will miss his insight and wit. My condolences to his family.

Rest in Peace Victor. Thanks for being such a great cheerleader and mentor during my real estate career. We last spoke July 31 about upcoming new deals and had a couple of laughs. I will always cherish your words of wisdom and your sense of humor. You left us too early but I'm certain God has a new mission and adventure for you. Have fun playing your cello in heaven, I will miss you Victor.

Victor was a true gem. It was such an honor to know him and play music in the pit together all of these years. His lovely genuine personality, came through his beautiful musical playing. He had a great sense of humor! Nutcracker will never be the same.
I was very lucky to have had these years sitting so near him in the pit, he will be greatly missed. He was the nicest human I've ever known. RIP

Victor and I became friends in the late 1970's. He was quite a runner. We would meet at his apartment by Golden Gate Park, frequently between services. Together we would run in the park for 5 miles or so. We also played a lot of chamber music together.
He was a major part of my life. I will miss him terribly.

I knew and worked with Victor for 40 years. We entered the ballet orchestra together in 1982, both having passed the same audition. He was a fine musician, of sterling and gentle character - I never heard an unkind word from him. His wry sense of humor and calm manner, as well as his superb contribution to the ballet orchestra will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

The eternal question: Why do the best of us die so young? I cannot accept this. I admired him for over 40 years - his musicality and especially his sound. It came from his personality- generous, warm and kind, with a smile that always gave you one too. A huge loss to a world so in need of such a true gentleman.
