Dear Kelly Family,
I am sorry for your loss, but relish in the time you had to share with her. Your family was getting into the harness business the same times that ours was getting out. Surprisingly, when they filmed a made for TV movie on my family's training stable, a Kelly horse was the first Standardbred that I ever drove or even touched! It was a fitting end and a fitting beginning.
Brought back memories of people and names that I have not thought of for years. I have periodically wondered about Colleen and we lost track of each other after high school. College and lives just got in the way and years marched on.
Mrs. Kelly was so nice to me and she had such a classiness that was effortless. She was one of those women who I grew up around. Perfectly capable of doing anything but also willing to let her husband take the limelight.
I know that these are devastating times for you. My mother has been dead almost fifteen years and I miss her every single day. But hold onto those memories and know that she will always be with you.
