Obituary of Genaya Marie Aguirre

Genaya Marie Aguirre, a life-long resident of Hollister, California, passed away on May 18, 2020. She died suddenly of a massive stroke at the age of 30 years old. Genaya was born in Gilroy, California on June 19, 1989. She attended local schools and graduated at San Benito High School in 2007. She then attended Gavilan College and graduated in 2013 with her AA degree in Child Development. She loved children so much; she would make the children laugh and dance. She taught the children to learn to be independent. Her compassion was children with special needs. Genaya loved cooking, music, dance, camping, swimming and shopping. But mostly, she loved to be with family and friends. Genaya worked with children for 14 years. She worked at Children Courtyard in Morgan Hill. She started in pre-school classes and then moved up to early pre-school classes. All of the children in her classes loved her very much. She would say, “those kids are my kids”. Genaya was star coordinator and loved to give her co-workers surprises on their birthdays and anniversaries. She liked to make them happy and to make them laugh. She would always be there for her co-workers. Genaya attended Sunnyslope Christian Center for 17 years. She was involved in youth group and connected with the adult group as well as women ministries, meet the needs, children church and many other church activities. She loved God very much. She is survived by her parents Raymond and Laura Aguirre; brother Richard; grandmother Henrietta Razo; grandparents Richard and Hortensia Aguirre; aunts Mary Ellen Raza, Lupe Barajas and Evelyn Razo; Uncles Rory Aguirre and John Barajas; cousins Joann DeLaRosa, David DeLaRosa, Jimmy Razo, Mondo Razo, Angie Razo, Johnny E. Barajas, George Barajas, Jack Barajas, Austin Robon, Alexis Razo and Gabriel Razo; as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by grandfather Lindbergh Razo; great-grandmother Lupe Valdez; uncle George Razo, Aunt Rosalinda Razo; cousin Robert Jr. DeLaRosa, uncle Robert Sr. DeLaRosa, uncle Frank Valdez, Jess Valdez and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Genaya was loved by many family and friends. She had a big heart and a beautiful smile with deep dimples. Genaya is in the arms of God and is a beautiful angel in Heaven. A Celebration of Life for Genaya will be on July 3rd, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunnyslope Christian Center, 1520 Sunnyslope Road, Hollister.
