Obituary of Betty Ann Bianchi

Betty Ann Broder was born on June 2, 1925 in Piedmont, California. At the age of 5, she, her Father Walter Broder, Mother Ida Remington Broder and older sister Vera Broder moved to the family homestead in Folsom, California. The Broder Homestead was built in 1859 by Betty’s great grandfather Jacob Broder, an early California Pioneer. He emigrated from Switzerland heading to the California Gold rush. Realizing he was not going to ‘strike it rich’ in the gold fields, he and his brother Oswald homesteaded. Raising cattle and farming. Her father, Walter, was raised there with 7 brothers and sisters. Betty thrived on the homestead and she acquired a great love of horses. By the age of 16 she had become quite the ranch hand, riding horseback from Folsom to South Lake Tahoe, to drive cattle to the summer pasture land in the mountains. Betty attended College of the Pacific, now UOP, in Stockton, where she met her husband William ‘Bill’ Bianchi. They were married in 1946 on Easter Sunday at Trinity Church in Folsom. They lived and raised their children Karen and Bob in Manteca. They had homes in Mexico, Colorado, Palm Desert and Hollister. They loved to travel. After Bill passed, she moved to Cathedral City, she loved the desert heat and living near her daughter, Karen. Next, she moved to Carmel, where she was near her son Bob. She loved her grandchildren Sherri Daniel Gilchrest, Paul Bianchi and Steven Bianchi. Betty had a long and blessed life!
