Obituary of Amelia J. Landeros
Amelia “Mae” Landeros passed away in Hollister, California on June 9, 2016, at the age of 85 years. Mae, as she was affectionately known by her friends, was a graduate of Sacred Heart School and San Benito High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Y.L.I. of Hollister, the Eagles Auxiliary, the Cursillio Movement and the Divine Mercy Group at Sacred Heart Parish. “She was truly a people person”, said her family, “she enjoyed visiting with and helping other people”. She also referred to everyone as, “Mijo & Mija”.
Mae worked for 35 years for the Hollister Bakery and 5 years for the Superior Bakery in Hollister. She enjoyed her home, loved to travel, loved to dance, and was an avid San Francisco Giants fan.
She was the spouse of the late Rafael “Ralph” Landeros who died on September 19, 2011. Surviving Mae are her children, Ruben Landeros (Alice) of Hollister and Rosemary Salcedo of Santa Clara; her grandchildren, Adrian Landeros, Sal Lopez, and Nick Lopez of Hollister; and many nieces and nephews. And also her loyal dog “Buster”.
She was pre-deceased by Brothers Alfonso Jaime, Adolph Jaime, Henry Jaime and Sister Carmen Jaime.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Hollister.
Burial will be Friday, June 17, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery.
Donations are preferred to the St. Benedict Church Building Fund c/o the mortuary.
