My condolences to the Quintero family. Steve was my best friend all through childhood. I met him and Lori when I moved to Hollister at 8 years old. He approached me on his three wheeler because I picked a bell pepper from his family’s field. He wasn’t mean, and asked if my family wanted more. We became instant friends and were inseparable for years. I was just sitting here thinking about him for no apparent reason and looked him up online and discovered he passed.I’m so sad. We grew apart as young adults for stupid reasons and I will always cherish our friendship. He and his father taught me so much as a child. They both toughened me up and opened my eyes to Hispanic culture. I will miss him, he was kind of like a big brother to me. He stuck up for me and was always a confidant. I am truly sorry and heartbroken. I will miss him.

My condolences to Mrs. Quintero and all the Quintero family. I met Steve when he was 15 @ Angelo Rubio's horse ranch. He was there to try out a horse he wanted to buy. My daughter Justine and I went riding with him down to the river. The horse he was riding didn't handle the water too well and would start pawing at it and then would go down in the water and roll over. Steve was embarrassed at first but after this happened 4 time we all were laughing so hard we had tears. My daughter and I never told anyone our adventure with Steve because we didn't want to humiliate him at all. Steve and our paths crossed a few times after that. I was able to visit with Steve off and on for the last 4 months. He helped my daughter and her boyfriend Reinny Alnas out by putting them up in a 5th wheel of his. I know he was in pain and am glad he is not suffering anymore. Rest in Peace Steve
