Obituary of Carolyn Jean Bacich

Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carolyn Jean Bacich was born on December 15, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA to Walter and Eleanor Oliphant. She moved to Hollister, CA with her husband Ron in 1998 to be close to her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Carol worked as a bank manager for Home Savings for over 35 years. Upon “retiring” she went to work for her daughter & son-in-law as their accountant and office manager. Carol worked hard for everything she had in life and it surely shows when it comes to the various trips, she and her husband, friends, and family took throughout the years. She loved to travel, bake, and work in the garden. After losing her son and husband less than a year apart in 2009 & 2010, she maintained an impressive social life and stayed busy with friends and family doing all the things she loved. Carol was an amazing friend and cared deeply about all the individuals around her. Carol was diagnosed with kidney cancer in the beginning of 2017. But being the fighter she is, she outlived her prognosis by many years and fought hard to stay alongside her loved ones. Carol passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter & Eleanor Oliphant, husband Ronald Bacich, and son Ronald Bacich Jr. Carolyn is survived by her daughter Deborah Wood (Jim), grandchildren Chase Wood, Drake Wood, Riley Rossi (Brian), great grandchildren Rocco & Lily Carolyn, brothers John Oliphant (Cheryl), Jim Oliphant (Judy), and nephews Kevin Oliphant, Rick Oliphant (Dawn), & Scott Oliphant. A mass will be held at Immaculate Conception in Tres Pinos on March 7, 2020 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow to honor Carol’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Pet Friends & Rescue in Hollister, CA.
