Obituary
Obituary of Daniel John Lopez
Daniel was born on December 31, 1936 in Chino, CA and passed
peacefully on January 23, 2020 in San Francisco, CA after a brief illness.
He was a lifetime resident of San Juan Bautista from the age of three
years old and attended local schools including Gavilan Jr. College as
a Liberal Arts Major.
He was proud to have served in the US Marine Corps as a Corporal E3
honorably discharged with Aircraft Mechanic Training.
He retired as a Machinist for Kaiser Permanente Cement Plant in
Cupertino, CA and prior to that worked early in his career for now
defunct Ideal Cement Plant in San Juan Bautista.
He enjoyed all sports but mainly his beloved Oakland Raiders as well
as golf in his retirement. Also an avid History and a Science buff.
He will be missed for his gentle and kind ways. He was a friend to many
and will be greatly missed.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Cruz and Concepcion Lopez,
Brothers Rosario Lopez and Lupe Gomez and sister Ruth Ledesma.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor Lopez of San Juan Bautista, daughter
Jackie Morris-Lopez and spouse Gregg Morris, granddaughter Sarah (Morris) Griss and spouse Oliver Griss all of San Juan Bautista. Grandson Lucas Morris-Lopez of Mexico City, Mexico.
He is survived by brothers Manuel Lopez of Elk Grove, CA, Ruben Lopez
of San Juan Bautista, Larry Lopez and spouse Cheryl of Hollister, sister Rosie Mejia of Madera, CA and sister in-law Becky Lopez (Rosario) of San Juan Bautista.
He is also survived by brother-in-law Sam Gaboni and spouse Isabel of San Juan Bautista, sister in-laws Irene Aguras of Apollo Beach,
Florida, Theresa Valdivia of Los Banos, CA, Bea and Louisa Gaboni of
Klamath, CA and Joan Fornier of Klamath , CA and Brenda Gaboni of Elko, NV.
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends too
many to list but they are all in our hearts and not forgotten.
Visitation will be on Friday January 31, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm
with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday February 1, 2020 at 12:00pm at the
Mission San Juan Bautista. Interment will follow at San Juan District
Cemetery.
Donations are preferred to San Juan Bautista VFW, Pet Friends or Donor Network West c/o the mortuary.
The family invites you to a luncheon at the VFW Hall in San Juan
Bautista to honor Dan with his favorite style of a big BBQ send off.
