Dear Aimee & Family,
We found out today that Tony passed away.
Sorry for your loss, deepest sympathy & prayers.
We met Tony many years ago, about 29 years ago.
He was funny, intelligent guy.
We also love classic cars, we were in a class car club
with Tony & Aimee.
Rest in peace Tony.
You'll be missed by lots of folks.
Sincerely,
Rocky & Louise Demateo

I was Tony's waitress in SJB. When Tony came in you had to be on your toes. If he liked you, he would tease you. I will miss his good natured ribbing. Rest in peace Tony, you will be missed

Somewhere around 1985, my husband and I were the parents of five children, owned a trucking company contracted to Granite rock Company and were throwing away hundreds of dollars every single month on rent. We finally moved into a great house and the owner offered to sell it to us.
With less than $500 in the bank Someone told me to go see this guy name Tony at the bank and Gilroy, so I did. Tony and I brainstormed and he bent the rules and I made promises and we scraped and scavenged for ways to get the down payment. With Tony’s assistance we bought the house and that was the beginning of our real estate adventure. We now own three homes and every single time we think about our real estate we thank Tony for giving us our start. Tony was an expert at creative financing before that term was ever even thought of. We owe much of our financial success to Tony and have told him that in the past. Tony did a wonderful thing for the Mahler family and we will be forever grateful and he did it because he was a wonderful man with a huge heart who listened to a very young lady beg For a chance and he trusted. Thank you Tony for being the person you always will be in our hearts.

So fitting that Tony was born in the backseat of a car, may not have been a hot rod, but if Tony had that car today he would have turned it in to one! Tony was so creative and so much fun to be around, the Wednesday Lunch Gang and the Hot Rodders Western Breakfast Club will not be the same without him. Tony was a special asset to the City as the Mayor of San Juan Bautista, but we thought of him as mayor before it ever became official. Our hearts go out to Amy and all the family, thankyou for sharing this fine man with all of his friends. We were honored to be a part of his life for so many years and we will continue to share many more adventures with his family. Meet you at the finish line, so Rev It Up, Friends Forever!
