My deepest sympathy goes out to Esther's family and friends. She was my roommate 3 out of our 4 years at Drew University and a wonderful friend. I had lost contact with Esther until we connected on facebook several years ago. In our freshman year, Esther used to get letters of encouragement from her grandmother and she would read the mottos to me such as "Tests and studies are not the burdens they seem to be" and "A bird sat on the ledge and sang cheer up, things could get worse" to which we would reply "and they did". Her mother sent us grape jelly that year and we hid it in our closet since we were not supposed to eat in our room. Eventually it fell victim to the heat and we had alcoholic jelly on our crackers! Esther was a hard worker and devoted student always seeking knowledge beyond her assignments. I was always involved with dramatics while she was in debate club and assisting her economics professor. You can imagine my surprise when I read that she had the lead in Hello Dolly. She will always be in my heart when I think of Drew University and I treasure those years that we shared.
May you all be comforted by happy memories of Esther Tyler Prichett
