Obituary of Geraldine J. Yuste
Geraldine June Yuste was born on June 28, 1932 in Hollister, California and passed away on December 12, 2019 in Monterey, California.
Geri, as she was known by family and friends, graduated from San Benito Joint Union High School. Upon graduating, she worked at the High School for many, many years until she retired. She worked in several different departments while at the school. During the summer months, she worked on the family apricot orchard that she owned along with her husband, Manuel.
Geri was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was involved in many clubs including YLI, where she served as President, Treasurer and other positions. She was also a member of S.D.E.S and was the last reigning Queen of San Juan Bautista. She and her husband Manuel attended many Portuguese Festas throughout California. Geri and Manuel were also members of the Spanish Lodge.
Geri loved to travel with her husband Manuel. Together they ventured too many destinations. They traveled to Portugal, the Azore Islands, Spain, Greece, France and England, to name a few. Geri also loved to play cards and belonged to several card playing groups like Bunco and Bridge. She also loved to go out dancing with her husband and friends.
Geri will also be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Geri is survived by her husband of 68 years, Manuel Yuste; brother David Gomes (Gale) of Orange County; son Manny Yuste Jr. (Louise) and daughter Taralyn Yuste; grandchildren Rodney Stone (Rosie), Stacy Yuste, Traci Garcia, Laci Joice and Kaci Joice; great-grandchildren Molly and Anakin Stone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rose Gomes and her brother Leonard Gomes.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18th at Grunnagle-Ament-Neslon Funeral Home.
On Thursday, December 19th, family and friends will gather at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of the Resurrection. Interment will be private.
Donations are preferred to S.D.E.S. Lodge or Bridge Hospice c/o the mortuary
