Dear Josie and Family,
We are so sorry that Charley passed away even though we knew he hadn't been well in some time. Charley was always so friendly and polite to all who knew him. He always said hello to me when I would see him at the grocery store. He was liked by so many people. Charley was just a very likeable person that you couldn't help but have respect for in every way. Our best wishes for the entire family.

My first memory of Charlie goes back to the Dick Bruhn's store in Salinas It was the only Bruhn's store in early 60's. There were 10 employees. Both Charlie and I were in our very early 20's. It was like a family there then and every night the doors were locked and snacks and drinks were provided. Dick Bruhn really knew how to build staff morale and Charlie and I learned so much from him. I started as a wrapper and went on to bookkeeper/ buyer. In 1966 my son came along and I worked just Father.s day weeks and Christmas time. He always had a smile for everyone and such generosity of spirit. I was already in San Benito County and Charlie soon moved there as well. Charlie, Josie and I have known each other and been friends for over 55 years. I celebrate that Charlie is with his God and will light up heaven with his smiles. I would like to give my condolences to the Gallegos family at this time. I am very sorry for your lost of your husband, Father and Grandfather. He was a very nice man and always was so cheerful. I loved talking to him when he would come to pick up his grandson Zeus from daycare. His eyes would light up when he see Zeus and always shared that he waited a long time for this little guy. He will surely be missed but he is at rest now with our Lord. I will keep the families in my prayers for comfort, strength and peace in this very difficult time.
