Merilee was an artist and writer, contributing murals and signwork for parks and businesses in Northern California. One of her most loved projects was helping to preserve the history at Fern Cottage in Ferndale, CA. Her father Robert E. Eddy was also a Northern California artist, known for his watercolor paintings.
Merilee was born in New York state, and went to high school in Redwood City, where she met the future father of her children, Donald Leon Brown, an aerospace engineer. They had three children, and lived in Pomona, CA as well as Sudbury, MA before returning to the Bay Area and settling in Los Altos, CA.
Merilee is preceded in death by her former husband Don Brown, her companion John Baumgartner, and her daughter Linda Replogle Hammack. She is survived by her children Eric and Debralee Brown, 5 grandchildren, and multiple great grandchildren.
