Obituary of Albert Uccello

Albert Uccello, 83, died peacefully at Hazel Hawkins Hospital in Hollister, CA on December 31, 2015 with his loving wife by his side. Albert is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Uccello; his brother Emilio "Gus" Uccello; his daughters Lisa (Jim) and Julie (Gilbert); his grandchildren Mary, Brenda, and Gryffen; his three great grand-children Ryen, Arianna, and Jovanni, and many other loving family members. Born and raised in Piane Crati, Italy, the son of Julia and Joe Uccello. He was a resident of Hollister, CA for many years. Albert was a long time employee of the Hollister School District. He was hardworking, dedicated, and respected by all. Albert spent several years serving our country in the U.S. Army. He shared his pride through the telling of his stories. He had a love of life and a fantastic sense of humor. Gardening was his joy, and tomatoes were his pride. For us, the world seemed to celebrate his life, with fireworks at midnight, as he was welcomed by those who had gone before him. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7th, 2016, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, January 8th, 2016, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Community Foundation for San Benito County or the charity of your choice, c/o the mortuary.
