Obituary of Charles A. Costa

Charles Costa passed away at Gilroy Health Care at the age of 85. He was born and raised in San Benito County Charles studied at Stanford University. He served honorably in the United States Army. Charles aspired to be an opera singer like his Uncle Pete Costa and studied in Italy for many years. Upon his return to the United States he worked as a security guard at Whitaker Ordinance before his retirement. He was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and was an avid Bridge and Pedro card player. Charles is survived by his sister in law Romana Costa of Hollister, cousins Benny Costa of Hollister, Catherine Costa Bullock of Saratoga, and Rose Damien Babcock of Gainesville, Georgia. He is uncle to Nancy DeLaRosa, Teddy Costa, Henry Costa and George Costa all of Hollister. He also has 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Charles was predeceased by his brothers George Costa in 1996 and Pete Costa in 2008. Services have been held. Donations are preferred to St. Benedict Church, 1200 Fairview Road, Hollister, CA 95023 or c/o the mortuary.
