Obituary of Robert E. Martin

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bob passed away in Hollister, CA on Monday March 11, 2019 surrounded by loved ones.

Bobby had been ill for quite a while living with diabetes since the age of 17 and all the complications it brought over the years, but his passing was sudden and unexpected.

Born on February 28, 1954 to Frank M. Martin and Elvira (Candelaria) Martin, educated at Sacred Heart Elementary and San Benito High school.

Preceded in death by his father Frank M. Martin, survived by his son Bobby Jr., grandsons Angel (Maylani) and Anthony Martin and great grandchildren Isaac and Isabella, adopted daughter Celeste Duran and Mercy Gonzales, adopted grandchildren Adriana Duran, Marissa Avila, his mother Elvira C. Martin, brother David (Robin), sisters Terry (Ed), MaryEllen and nephews Brian (Phaedra), Jimmy (Gabriela), great nieces and nephews, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins as well as many close friends.

An ever outgoing and generous person, Bob made friends with everyone he met and helped anyone in need. He never forgot anyone he met and kept in contact with as many friends and relatives as he could. Best known for his career as a butcher, Bob enjoyed his yearly veggie garden which he shared with everyone, working on cars and small engines when his health would allow and reminiscing of his rodeo days of riding bulls. He also loved music, the Beatles, Santana, Merle Haggard and played guitar. Bob enjoyed his life to the fullest regardless of his life difficulties. He is at peace now and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
