"Daniel Thomas Maese, a retired radio engineer and resident of Hollister, CA, passed away on November 26th, 2018 at the age of 66. He is survived by his sons, Nicholas Maese and Gabriel Maese, daughter, Eileen Maese, former spouse, Erin Maese, and grandchildren by Nicholas, Trinity Maese and Tristan Maese. He is predeceased by his father, Ralph Maese; his mother, Margaret Guerrero; his sister, Mary Garcia; and his brother, Ralph Maese.

"Daniel was born on October 26th, 1952 at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. He spent his childhood in Pico Rivera, CA. He served in the United States Army for four years from 1970 to 1974, during which time he had the pleasure of being airborne and working for the Military Intelligence Corp in both the United States and Germany. In 1974 he returned to civilian life and, using the skills and knowledge he gained in the military, began working for Western Electric, which would go on to be conglomerated into AT&T, and continued to work there in the field of radio and microwave construction and communication for over 46 years, eventually retiring in 2017. During his time at AT&T he began to date a coworker named Erin Stokes in 1978, eventually marrying her in 1980. The two settled down in South El Monte, CA with an eventual move to Hollister, CA in 1994. They spent 22 happy years together and were blessed with three children, Nicholas in 1988, Gabriel in 1990, and Eileen in 1991. They amicably divorced in 2000."

Daniel was a devoted father with a magnanimous soul. He was an incredible lover of music, both in performing it and listening to it. Being an autodidact, he taught himself how to read music as an adolescent and played in numerous bands while growing up at dozens of venues across Los Angeles. Daniel was an avid fan of electronics and technology, his house always peppered with gadgets and projects. Charity ran deep within Daniel, being willing and happy to help all of those in need. As such, he enjoyed volunteering his time, being a member of the Kiwanis, Red Cross Emergency Communications, and serving on the San Benito Country Civil Grand Jury from 2002-2003. Above everything, Daniel loved his children and grandchildren, showing his love for them by devoting great amounts of time and energy to always assuring they were happy and safe. His love for knowledge and history made Daniel someone you could speak with for hours and never run out of things to speak about; his love for helping others made Daniel someone you could always come to in need, knowing he would do everything he could do to help. In this, he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him."
