Obituary of Emilia Duran Castro

With great sadness, the family of Emilia Duran Castro announces her passing, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Emilia Duran Castro was born September 16, 1926 in Karnes City, Texas Emilia, a Widow, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Aunt, passed away at the age of 92 surrounded by all of her loved ones.

Emilia is survived by 7 Daughters and 1 Son: Mary (Terri) Marquez, Pauline Narvaez (Raul), Salvador G. Duran Jr. (Marty), Rosemary Duran Garcia, Margie DelReal (Raul), Millie Valencia (Leonard), Elsa Duran and Lina Villegas (Ricky). Emilia is also survived by 18 Grandchildren and 30 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; as well as loving friend Stacy Wolchow. Emilia was preceded in death by her Husband, Salvador Duran Castro; her sons: Jesus, Jose, Jessie and Louis Duran; and daughters Lupe Duran and Cristina Guttirez (surviving husband Arnold), and Grandson Joseph P. Duran.

Emilia has been a resident of Hollister, California for over 70 years and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish. Emilia has a passion for gardening, sewing, embroidery and cooking. Emilia cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 29th, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, November 30th, family and friends will gather at Sacred Heart Church at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of the Resurrection. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
