Obituary of Frances Escovedo Lucas
Frances E Lucas age 85 of Hollister, California, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away last Thursday, September 27th, 2018.
Born August 17th, 1933 in Solomon, Arizona from parents Saul and Carolina Escovedo, resided with her parents and 4 siblings from the age of 12 in San Juan Bautista. After marriage she moved and has since resided in Hollister, California where Frances and Julio raised a family.
Frances was married to Julio S Lucas Sr in Hollister on August 18th, 1951 and was married for 53 years until his passing in 2004.
Frances started work at Denise & Denise and Filice Packing Company during the 1960’s until the day she retired.
Regularly attended church at Mission San Juan Bautista while growing up in San Juan Bautista and then attended Sacred Heart Church of Hollister in her adult years. Dedicated her time to various fundraisers at Sacred Heart School where her grandchildren attended school.
Frances enjoyed the outdoors whether at the beach fishing, having picnics and BBQ’s with family or when she was tending to her flower gardens of carnations and roses.
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, her kindheartedness and zest for life always drew friends and family close. Family was of the utmost importance to Frances and she dedicated her life to supporting and loving those closest to her.
Survived by her children Chris Lucas and Brenda Lucas (Rich), Stepson Julio Lucas Jr (Aydee), blessed with 6 Grand-Children, Julio III, Heidi, Bonnie, Matthew, Shamara, Jared and 11 Great Grand-Children.
Preceded in death by husband Julio S Lucas Sr and son Gilbert Lucas.
Pallbearers include Jared Lucas, Matthew Lucas, Michael Castaneda, Richard Holland, Michael La Montagne, Chris Lucas (honorary).
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, October 12, 2018, family and friends will meet at Sacred Heart Church at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of the Resurrection. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
