Dear Mary and Liz and families,
I just learned today of your mother’s passing. I knew she was not well when she missed the rodeo. What a fine person, strong and intelligent!
Keep her in your thoughts. I talk to my parents all the time,

Remembering Mrs. Matulich, my PE teacher, serious but caring. I was her towel monitor in PE class so she let me go to the gym early before class ended. Rest in Peace, she will long be remembered.

I will always remember Mrs. Matulich as a “woman on a mission” but later in life as a really warm and kind hearted lady with a smile to match! God Bless you all during this very difficult time.

Mrs. Matulich made a profound difference in my life. I had the great fortune of having her as my PE instructor in high school. I had an unrealistic but very real fear of doing a somersault. During our gymnastics rotation, she worked with me after class, every single day, to help me overcome my fear. I was so enthusiastic that I decided to try out for mascot the following fall. Mrs. Matulich was on the selection committee. I have always had a strong feeling that she endorsed my bid, even though I couldn’t do a cartwheel or other gymnastics moves, but she knew that I more enthusiasm and school spirit in my little finger to more than make up for my athletic shortcomings. Thank you, dear Mrs. Matulich for believing in me, even when I was convinced I was a failure. I hope you’re doing cartwheels in heaven!

It was an honor to help take care of you. I ended up growing so close to you it didn’t feel like a job to me it just felt like I was at home taking care of another family member. I will always cherish the time we spent together and I will miss you very much. Thank you for loving and caring about me as much as I loved and cared about you Helen.
I’ll see you later

Sending my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Mrs Matulitch.
I was never sent to her office while in high school. I only ever saw her in the main hall or elsewhere on campus. I’d smile as we passed. She always seemd to be in a hurry, a woman on a mission.
Her memorial video was beautiful. Thank you so much fo sharing those beautiful moments. It was awesome to get to see her smiling with family and hear her speaking about Pinerock.
May God ease the pain of her passing and strengthen the wonderful memories you carry.

I am sad to hear the news that Mrs. Matulich has passed. As a distant relative (Butts/Duncan family), I made sure to never cut class and be sent to her office. She was a very caring and proud lady. Thank you Mrs. Matulich for many great memories during my high school years. Thoughts and prayers to all.

I first want to tell all the family members that I am so sorry for your loss. Helen was a great person a fair person that didn't judge people but she was strict which made us in high school respect her more for her Authority. She gave me detention for cutting class which I was really upset at the time for but looking back she did it because she cared about me and didn't want me to do it again and I never did. She was a wonderful loving caring woman and I'm sure everybody is going to miss her tremendously. God bless you and your family at this time.

Loved the beautiful tribute of memories. I can still see her walking down the hall at San Benito High with her signature “bun” of her long hair on top of her head. She put her heart into everything including her ranch and family. She will be greatly missed by all. My sincere prayers and condolences to her families during this most difficult time.
