I will always remember Mr. Alstad fondly as a teacher and a friend. My favorite memory of him is at church during a youth group fund raiser. I was drawing pictures for a donation, I was not good at this, and he came to get his drawn. When he approached me he said "Do a good job, remember the grades are not in yet." He was also my reading teacher at the time. I was so nervous drawing that picture. But, when I was done he told me that it was good. I just told my 11 year old granddaughter this story last week. Sometimes it's the little things we remember that mean the most.

I can’t think of words that seem adequate to say exactly what I feel. Please know Aunt Donna that you, Mark, Susie, Laura, Leslie and all the grandkidskids are in my heart, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Uncle Allen was always very sprecial to me. I have great memories from my childhood to current, of his big smile, beautiful deep voice when singing and story telling. He even blessed me by walking me down the isle to marry Jon. He was a wonderful Uncle and loved very much. Condolences to you all. Love Vickie

Mr. Alstad was one of those teachers that had an incredible impact on my life during a time when things were just hard. He was always kind and understanding to my situation. He was a wonderful contribution to the teaching community. Prayers for his family and friends.
