Obituary of Paul Mendoza Ortiz

Paul Mendoza Ortiz passed away in Salinas, California on May 6, 2018. The son of the late Arcadio Ortiz and Maria Luisa Mendoza, Paul was 92 years old and a life long resident of Hollister, California. Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the S.I.R.S. and the Bolado Park Golf Club.  He was a devout catholic and member of Sacred Heart Church. Upon his retirement as the Manager of the San Benito County Labor Camp he was able to devote more time to his Family and his passion for golf. “He shot an 80 on his 80^th birthday, said his family”. “He was most happy enjoying his family, tending to his garden, and listening to Mexican music".

Surviving Paul is his spouse of 65 years, Lupe Velasco Ortiz; his children David Ortiz (Myrna) of Hollister, Gloria Garcia (Victor) of Millbrae and Sylvia Ortiz (Charlie) of Carmel; his brother Ruben (May) and sister Mercedes Torres; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Juventino and Jose Ortiz, and Jesse Ortega. Friends are invited to join the family on Friday May 11^th at 11:00a.m.  at Sacred Heart Church 5^th & College Streets., Hollister for a Mass of The Resurrection.  Inurnment will be private.

Memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Sacred Heart School c/o the funeral home chapel.
